Flake Colors

Your floor, your color. We install genuine Torginol color flake, broadcast edge to edge for a finish that hides wear for years. Every blend below is listed with its exact recipe, so you can see what is actually in it instead of guessing from the name.

On the shelf now

In stock for a faster install

These blends are kept in stock at our Fort Worth supplier, so we can start your floor sooner. Any other color on this page can be special-ordered, which usually adds a few days to the schedule. The price is the same either way.

How to read a blend

A flake blend is a recipe. Torginol mixes solid-color vinyl chips in set percentages, and that mix is what gives a floor depth instead of looking like paint. Domino is even thirds of black, gray, and white. Creekbed is nine separate colors, six of them at 3% each.

Two things worth knowing before you pick:

  • Names mislead. Coyote sounds like a desert brown. It is 60% white with 5% chocolate. Wombat has no brown in it at all. Read the recipe, not the name.
  • The base coat tints everything. Under the flake sits a pigmented epoxy base, and a full broadcast still leaves small gaps where it peeks through. We match the base to the blend's most prominent color so the floor looks like the sample. Our pick is listed on every card.

The Short List

The five people pick, and the five that hide the most

Two different questions, and they have different answers. Below is what gets asked for most, then what actually stays looking clean between sweeps. Two blends make both lists, which is not a coincidence.

Most popular

What our supplier moves and what people ask us for by name. We have not coated enough floors yet to rank these off our own jobs, so treat it as the trade's answer rather than ours.

  1. Domino Torginol flake blend, ranked 1 for popularity
    Domino FB-411

The blend people picture when they say "epoxy garage floor." Even thirds of black, gray, and white go with any wall color, any cabinet, any door, and that is most of why it wins.

  2. Gravel Torginol flake blend, ranked 2 for popularity
    Gravel FB-414

Domino without the jolt. Four grays from charcoal up to white, so it reads like river stone instead of a checkerboard.

  3. Wombat Torginol flake blend, ranked 3 for popularity
    Wombat FB-616

What people pick when they want dark but not black. Over half charcoal, with enough white left in it to keep the floor from going flat.

  4. Outback Torginol flake blend, ranked 4 for popularity
    Outback FB-517

The warm side's best seller. Tan, two browns, and a hit of salmon, which lands close to the color of the dirt that blows in around here.

  5. Shoreline Torginol flake blend, ranked 5 for popularity
    Shoreline FB-421

Light, sandy, and warm. Usually the pick when the garage opens onto a finished room and a gray floor would make it read like a shop.

Best at hiding dirt and tire marks

Ranked off the recipes, not off a lab test. A blend hides the most when it sits mid-tone, runs from dark to light, and has a lot going on in it.

  1. Gravel Torginol flake blend, ranked 1 for hiding dirt
    Gravel FB-414

Charcoal through white in one blend. The dark chips swallow tire rubber, the light chips swallow dust, and nothing that lands on it has a clean background to sit against.

  2. Domino Torginol flake blend, ranked 2 for hiding dirt
    Domino FB-411

The black third takes the tire marks and the white third takes the dust. Contrast is doing the work here, not the color.

  3. Creekbed Torginol flake blend, ranked 3 for hiding dirt
    Creekbed FB-716

Nine colors, more than anything else we install, and six of them sit at 3%. That seasoning is what makes a fleck of anything read as part of the floor.

  4. Outback Torginol flake blend, ranked 4 for hiding dirt
    Outback FB-517

The best one on red dirt specifically. Brown hides brown, and around here brown is most of what comes in on a tire.

  5. Wombat Torginol flake blend, ranked 5 for hiding dirt
    Wombat FB-616

Dark enough that rubber marks vanish, with 15% white so dust cannot take over. The most practical of the dark blends for a garage that gets used.

Dark does not mean dirty

Most people arrive believing dark floors show more dirt. What actually shows dirt is contrast, and a garage collects two opposite kinds of it. Road dust, dried mud, pollen, and concrete dust are pale, so they show up on a dark floor. Tire rubber, oil, and brake dust are dark, so they show up on a light one. Pick the extreme in either direction and you win one of those fights and lose the other. A mid-tone blend with both dark and light chips in it is the only way to be even on both, which is why Gravel and Domino sell the way they do.

One more thing worth separating: black scuffs from a turning tire are not the same as hot tire pickup, where the coating lifts off the slab. Pickup is a failure of the coating system, not the color. It is what happens to a big-box DIY kit, and it is the reason we top every floor with polyaspartic.

The two that ask the most of you

We will still install these and they photograph beautifully. You should just know what you are signing up for.

  • Raven Torginol flake blend
    Raven FB-915

80% black. It hides oil and tire marks better than anything on the board, then shows every bit of dust, pollen, and dried water spot that lands on it.

  • Opal Torginol flake blend
    Opal FB-901

90% white. Beautiful in a showroom, and the first floor to show a black rubber scuff from a tire that turned on it.
